Looking for a natural foot odor remedy? You're not alone. Nobody likes stinky feet so do something about it and make your feet smell human again. I'm kidding but seriously a foot odor problem is a serious problem but you don't have to live with it and it can be cured in a natural way. You want to be able to take off your shoes and socks in a public place like the beach or even in your own house when people are over.

Some tips you can try to help reduce your foot odor is wear wool socks, wash feet everyday, change socks as many times a day as you can, use baking soda on them, use foot odor insoles, try zinc supplements, soak feet in lemon juice and kosher salt and water. If those don't work then your up the creek without a paddle, kidding.

Try soaking your feet in tea. What you will want to do is brew a couple of bags of black tea in a large bowl of water. After brewing the tea you will want to soak your feet for 10 to 15 minutes a day. The tannic acid in the tea will help prevent your feet from sweating in the first place, and therefore keep the foot odor at bay.

Mix one teaspoon with one or two gallons of water in a container with Alum , and soak your feet for 30 minutes. After, rinse with clear water; repeat after four days. Doing this for a month should get rid of your foot odor.

Another way to take control is to use sprays that neutralize the smell, you can keep a can of spray with you and use it in bathroom. Sprays are also very handy to use after work or school, when you have been wearing shoes for a long time, and you cant wash your feet. As an alternative to sprays you can use powders, which will also help you to prevent itching. If you don't have powders you can use baking soda - just put some on your feet before putting the socks on.

Most everyone knows that feet sweat on a daily basis, but what a lot of people don't understand is that sweat is essentially odorless. Certain strains of bacteria, which feeds off of the sweat, is the real culprit to most foot odors, and the amazing thing about it is, there are natural and cheap cures that can be used to "fix" this issue in a very short period of time. While most products try to fix the actual smell the bacteria emit, few actually get rid of the smell at the source: the bacteria!

Although there are home remedies to stop your feet from sweating that I'll list in a moment, your first line of defense against foot odor is to treat your shoes, not your feet. Let them "breathe" and dry out every other day. In summer, wear sandals, as long as they are not made of "jelly-like" plastic. In winter, wear washable shoes that you can launder to cut down the number of bacteria that cause foot odor.

It is also a good idea to buy shoes that are washable. If your shoes can be washed, throw them in the washing machine or brush the insides with a small amount of detergent. Let your shoes completely dry out before you wear them again-wearing shoes that are still damp is an almost sure way to develop foot odor! To dry shoes, use a shoe dryer, or a hair dryer on the outside and then stuff the inside with newspaper and allow to dry overnight.
